Tax Increase: "Today, we have a tax system that is undermining public services," says David Lisnard (President of the Association of Mayors of France)

The housing tax was back in the news this weekend, with the Minister of Regional Planning, François Rebsamen, ruling out reinstating it but proposing a substitute. He said he was considering introducing a "modest contribution" to fund municipal public services in order to "reconnect" between communities and the citizens who live there.
